When Robert S. Olnick built Lenox Terrace some six decades ago, it set a new standard as the first luxury housing in Harlem.

With balconies, on-site parking and adjacent retail—then seen as luxury amenities—New York Times Magazine heralded Lenox Terrace as “Harlem’s Best Address.”

More than half a century later, Lenox Terrace is the only major residential community in Harlem that remains family-owned and operated.
